Michel No's painting is full of sunshine and color; it is a kind of echo of nature always in motion. A true sincerity emanates from his works. "A great explosion of light and passion, a language of totally unusual strength." (Michel Roquebert)
Michel No was born in 1939 in Orsay. He discovered drawing at an early age and at the age of 18 entered AD Steinlen's painting workshop in Paris and, from 1957 to 1958, G. Visat's etching workshop, where he made decisive encounters: Giacometti , Mas Ernst, César..
From 1959 to 1961, he discovered North Africa and the magical colors of desert landscapes. In Algeria, he produced a series of drawings and gouaches on the Casba.
He stays in Catalonia, where he finds the Mediterranean light. He settles in the Catalan hinterland.

"Portrait of an Elegant Woman," oil painting on wood signed lower right and dedicated to Madame Merlet.
Attended: San Francisco Art Association School of Design, Académie des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Académie Julian de Paris, New York School of Art
"In the past I worked on light and shadow effects. Now I paint exclusively for unusual effects and color harmonies." It is with these words that Martin Borgord, a Norwegian-born but naturalized American painter, interviewed by a journalist from the Hartford Courant, explains our painting.Straddling the line between Impressionism and Expressionism, the elegant lady loses the sharpness of detail, blending with light and color in quick, dense brushstrokes.
Excellent state of preservation.Presented in antique carved and silvered wooden frame. It has a regular Fine Arts export certificate.

«My brother gave them a name» Still Life Oil Painting by Samantha Van Heest
By Samantha Van Heest
Located in Oslo, NO
This painting was inspired by the artists very first toy, a small blue giraffe, given to her as a day-old baby. It is something that has been around her whole life, and even though it is inanimate, there is a feeling of personification through the years of wear. Her brother as a baby would call giraffes “fa,” which is always a sweet memory she associate with this toy.
