About the Item
Ming Ming Liang's "Green, Orange, and White Bouquet" is a 60" x 48" oil on canvas that portrays a lush, vibrant collection of flowers. The artwork is characterized by its expressive brushwork and a rich, warm palette, with shades of green and orange that burst forth from the canvas, accented by delicate touches of white. These colors are grounded by the deep, resonant tones of the background, creating an effect that is both intimate and commanding. Liang's style merges the impressionistic with the contemporary, utilizing bold strokes and an abstracted form that lends a sense of movement and liveliness to the still-life. The overall emotion of the piece is one of joyous abundance and celebration of natural beauty, inviting the viewer to pause and immerse themselves in the color and energy of the painted bouquet.

Ming Ming
Born in Guangzhou, China, Ming-Ming Liang graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1987 and has become a celebrated artist known for her expressive depictions of life and freedom. Her art, deeply influenced by California’s landscapes, focuses on capturing the ephemeral interplay between light and shadow, particularly in her acclaimed flower series. Her unique style blends memory and imagination. She uses layered techniques to explore form, texture, and color. This approach creates paneled surfaces where elements like light, air, and color merge, producing vibrant playfulness in her works. A respected member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and other art associations, Ming-Ming has dedicated over three decades to art creation and education. She now lives and teaches in the San Francisco Bay Area, continually inspiring new artists. Ming-Ming's work, characterized by numerous national exhibitions, awards, and media features, is widely collected by organizations and private collectors around the world, showcasing her significant impact on the art community. "My painting is an expression of the beauty of life and freedom. My inspirations come from my surroundings: gardens, California’s wildflowers, trees, sunshine, wind, clouds, and tides. All of these drive me to seek how they interact. For many years, I have focused on the theme of flowers. I intend to capture these forms, compositions, and movements between light and shadow to integrate my memories and imagination onto canvas. In my flower series, I explore form, texture, color, and light in a unique freehand style. I usually paint in a certain hue, then rework and re-layer with brush strokes and textures to create paneled surfaces, where the objects, light, and air often meld into one; colors disperse with warmth diffusing into the background. The process is full of the possibilities for the playfulness of art." - Ming Ming
