A very well executed still life composition by British artist Nancy Crewe, painted in oil on to board and presented beautifully in a bespoke white tray frame.
It features four pears, arranged in a row across a horizontal composition, on a muted green and brown surface. The backdrop is a softly blended cream and ochre gradient, suggesting a calm, abstracted environment, almost dreamlike in its quietness.
The lighting and deep shadows cast beneath the pears give the composition a sense of solidity and grounding, contrasting with the airy, abstracted background. The simplified palette—earthy greens, ochres, and whites—evokes a feeling of calm introspection.
This work stands out for its poetic simplicity and its ability to evoke human qualities through still life.
The oil on board is housed in a very complementary white tray frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.
