Part of Tom Miller's Discovery series, in which a package is unwrapped to reveal an artifact or painting valued by the artist. Blue and white Ming pottery is a particular favorite. "The vibrant blue designs taken from nature and arranged on a simple shape are a pleasure to live with everyday," he explains.

About the Artist
Thomas Miller turns his canvas into a time machine, bridging past and present. Inspired by still life and portrait paintings of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, Thomas mixes in touches of Modern Art. As time and technology march forward, Thomas sees art as the enduring expression of our shared human experience. Ever the history buff, Thomas enjoys referencing the great artists in his paintings - reinventing classic pieces by Vermeer or Ingres. Fun fact: Thomas spent 15 years traveling the world with the Mermaid Theatre as a designer and performer.
