About the Item
A sparse arrangement of delicate peaches and robust grapes hang casually over a fine china plate in this exquisitely rendered still life study. Although best known for her portraits, this is a fine example of von Berkholtz's later work; the artist has used a range of subtle tonal contrasts to create a varied composition.
Well presented in a gilt effect frame. Signed and dated to the upper edge. On the reverse of the frame are three printed labels, one with artist information and the others detailing previous sales. Indistinct inscription to the reverse of the panel. On panel.
