Pair of 1600s Nature Morte di Fiori by 17th-century Italian school, unframed. Oil paintings on canvas with a dark background and finely defined flowers these Baroque still lifes of the Italian school have good compositional balance, the composition is well balanced arranged in a pyramidal pattern with flowers of various types within a vase, fruit at the base and birds at the top. Typical of the seventeenth-century era was precisely, in the field of still life of flowers, the study and to representation of plants of all species, but also of fantasy. These beautiful Italian still lifes from the mid-1600s are made with an abundance of flowers and flowing leaves. The flower arrangement has extreme exuberance and skill in assembling different flowers, gathered in a bouquet.
La finalità decorativa è esaltata dalla varietà dei fiori dipinti; si trovano peonie, rose, tulipani, garofani, fiori di campo policromi, ma anche fiori irreali, inventati, di fantasia. In queste composizioni floreali italiane antiche i fiori sono i veri protagonisti in primo piano mentre tutto il resto si rivela come il vaso indefinito in ottone e il piano del tavolo squadrato.
Italian school, this pair of antique still lifes of flowers dates from the mid-17th century and has old restorations and imperfections but are in good condition; they were lined and restored to a new frame some seventy years ago and at that time pictorial retouches were made . They are presented unframed and the two works are unsigned.
They come from a private Milanese collection.
To export an antique art object from Italy, an export license called BELLE ARTI must be applied for from the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage. the issuance of such a government license takes a couple of weeks or so, to be added to the order's shipping time.
