Zoa Ace
"Calla Lilies", Oil Painting of White Flowers With Red Background

2025

About the Item

Zoa Ace’s "Calla Lilies" (2025) is a vibrant oil on canvas floral painting that exudes expressive energy and movement. Measuring 24 x 22 x 1.50 inches, this unframed yet ready-to-hang piece presents a dynamic bouquet of white calla lilies with golden centers, elegantly arranged in a stylized vase. Boldly outlined with shades of cobalt and lavender, the flowers bloom against a vivid red backdrop that amplifies their form and color contrast. The composition is rich with rhythm with each petal and leaf curling with exaggerated, almost sculptural curves. Lush green foliage frames the bouquet with sweeping strokes, creating a harmonious tension between color and shape. The vase itself is playfully adorned with deep blue flourishes that echo the surrounding brushwork. This artwork exemplifies Ace’s distinctive flair for infusing floral subjects with bold palette choices and animated lines. The red background intensifies the white blooms, giving the piece a strong graphic presence ideal for collectors who value contemporary interpretations of botanical themes. Hand-painted and original, this piece reflects the artist's commitment to expressive design and traditional oil techniques. It requires no additional framing and can be installed immediately. Ideal for a statement wall or to brighten intimate spaces with an exuberant floral focus. About the Artist: "My work is figurative and deals primarily with human relationships. I typically use animals and theatrical settings symbolically to accentuate certain characteristics and situations. I enjoy the classical beauty of oil on canvas." I've lived in Berthoud, Colorado for over 20 years, and have been showing and selling work in the Denver area for even longer. My paintings have appeared in the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, Austria, Mosko Miller Fine Art in New York City, and in the Denver Art Museum as part of a public collection. Zoa was born in Rockford, Illinois. Her corporate and public collections include: Corporate and public collections: Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO El Pomar Foundation (The Broadmoor) Colorado Springs, CO MEGABANK, Englewood, CO

"Grannies" (2023) by Carrie Goller, Original Oil Painting of Green Apples
Located in Denver, CO
Carrie Goller's (US based) "Grannies" (2023) is an original, oil on canvas painting that depicts three granny smith apples. This piece is framed and ready to hang. Born and raised on Washington’s tiny Bainbridge Island, artist Carrie Goller recalls being advised as a child to pursue a career in fine art. After an early career as a paralegal, a life-changing experience led her to become a serious and dedicated artist. Once I finally indulged my need to create art, the door was opened and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been making up for lost time; a bit obsessed. Art is now a necessity for me. I find true expression and balance in that world, says Goller. Goller is inspired by simple, sensuous organic forms and the realm of colors, shapes and textures found in nature. Her thoughtful approach to subject matter can be evidenced from her tender still life work, along with a passion for rendering impressionist oils of daily life. From her Bainbridge Island and Hood Canal...

"Entropy", Acrylic Painting
By Josh Talbott
Located in Denver, CO
Josh Talbott's (US based) "Entropy" is an acrylic painting that depicts an overturned blue glass jar with clock hands spilling out onto a white background. Bio: Josh Talbott grew up in suburban/rural Georgia in the southern US. His first work as a professional artist was in scenic painting and murals for various production companies. An attempt to deepen his well of possibilities led to New Orleans where as a street artist he sold works to people from all over the world before loosing everything in hurricane Katrina. With short stints in Santa Fe and then Los Angeles Josh arrived in the small coastal city of Los Osos, California where he lives and works today. His curiosity is voracious and interests are many, including scuba/ free diving, sailing, surfing, gardening, geology, rock hounding, rationality, AI, history, and philosophy. In his studio there is always an audiobook on, and outside of the studio there are all manner of activities making there way into his work. He has many private collectors scattered across the globe and murals in San Francisco. ARTIST STATEMENT We live in a time of extreme and accelerated change, growing complexity, and specialization. At every stage in our human trajectory from primitive beginnings crawling out of the sea to the present gauntlet of challenges, our thinking tools and their uses are central to the story of what it means to be human. My work is informed by a fascination with thinking tools and the effects of programming and environment through the different phases of life and our capacity for storytelling. My practice consists of constructing small-scale still life scenarios of toys and other artifacts of human development, then creating photorealistic acrylic paintings of these scenes. The work juxtaposes the familiar and playful with a contemporary, complex, adult world. While I am interested in the science of the mind, and what it means to be a human, my work seldom features the human form, focusing instead on the objects and items that are frequently left behind. As such, the subject of the painting becomes the viewer him or herself because their own humanity is ultimately what is revealed. My work honors toys as thinking tools for small people and the scenes depicted explore the ways in which the culture of our formative years leaves a lasting mark and continues to shape our storytelling. The plastic artifacts of my formative years carry memories of simultaneous confusion and wonder at the world around me. These are sensations and emotions still very much present in my life. What were your imaginings and dramas when you played with toys? Are you living them today? The multileveled still life paintings of familiar toys are bright and accessible and connect to the viewer's nostalgia and playfulness while provoking deeper insights into our current evolutionary, cultural, and technological moment. I place each little curio with care into meaningful relationship to their interlocutors and environment. The plastic dinosaurs often depicted are emblematic of childhood curiosities, of great wonder and speculation at past worlds and the depth of evolutionary time, and yet they are made of a material that illustrates our shortsightedness, a quintessential human quality that makes it quite possible that these plastic creations will outlast us all. I do my best to draw inspiration and resources from everywhere to build a visual language. In my divergent path I find the musical compositions and the story of composer, Philip Glass inspiring. The story of his devotion to his craft and his subsequent successes have encouraged and inspired me. I'm influenced by writers such as Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Sapolsky, and Yuval Noah Harari, the many books by Simon Winchester, Daniel Dennet, Robert Wright...

Mental Structures- 21st Century Contemporary Still-life Painting
By Daniela Astone
Located in Nuenen, Noord Brabant
Italian artist Daniela Astone lives and works in Florence. She enjoys working with live models and paints her works from observation, the classical approach she learned at the Academy in Florence and which she now teaches to her students. Daniela Astone graduated in 2004. She had her first solo exhibition shortly afterwards in the United States. Since then, the international attention of the Italian artist has only grown. The classical structure and narrative paintings show a technique that is special. Her style is virtuoso and her subjects are narrative. The keys are loose and subtle. Standing in front of a painting means watching...
