About the Item
'Leaving Harbour' is part of the Sun Pier series of paintings and based on the pier that was located outside my studio in Medway, Kent. From outside sketches, observations and experiences at the time of the river Medway, I produced the painting as part of memory, experience and nostalgia. The repeat motif of the boat hull represents the hull shape of my vintage houseboat.
