Vincent Ricardel is a photographic artist whose career has spanned the editorial, commercial and fine art worlds of photography. “The Call” was made in 1990. The image of a woman talking on a pay telephone wedged between a cigarette machine and a wall speaks to that era. All the elements in this photograph bring the subject into balance with the rest of the scene and provides a sense of intrigue to the viewer.
