Provenance: Private Collector *** Artist’s Bio: Eikoh Hosoe 1933-2024. Born in Japan, both photographer and filmmaker Hosoe emerged as an experimental Japanese artist of post-World War II Japan. He is known for his psychologically charged images, which explore death and erotic obsession. The artist has an esteemed reputation both at home and abroad. Provenance: Private Collector *** Artist’s Bio: Yasuhiro Ishimoto a Japanese photographer was born in 1921. His work was chosen by Edward Steichen to appear in the Family of Man exhibition and catalogue at the Museum of Modern Art in 1955, and Steichen also selected his work for a three-person exhibition in 1961. From 1973-1993 Ishimoto produced a number of in-camera color abstractions that appeared as covers for a Japanese magazine.
