About the Item
Jaguar is a limited-edition photograph by British contemporary artist Gina Soden from the “Emergence” series. The artist’s initial intention was to photograph an abandoned house which proved too cumbersome. Returning from the site this abandoned car was spotted in the woods giving rise to this superb shot (NB The car in question is a Daimler not a Jaguar).
This photograph is sold unframed and comes in 3 dimensions:
*44 cm x 65 cm (including a 2 cm white border): edition of 15 copies
*74 cm x 109 cm (including a 2 cm white border): edition of 10 copies
*101.6 cm x 152.4 cm (including a 4 cm white border): edition of 3 copies
All prints are signed and numbered.
The photographic work of Gina Soden is incredibly poetic. She manages to give these unusual places a beauty they’ve either lost or never had to start with. With her pictorial treatment and a lyrically artistic approach the artist awakens a magic that inhabits these places and embellishes them, through her detailed compositions, with a triumphant aspect. The colours astonish, the light, almost divine, bedazzles and the haunting disorder of these places seems somehow to be appeased.
