His women are untouchable and alien, inhabitants of mysterious spheres, while at the same time radiating a confident physicality. Although Argentini’s style is quite unmistakable, he loves diversity and variety and repeatedly finds novel ways of communicating his visual fantasies. ‘Belly and black Garderbelt’ focuses on a models trained belly, as her gloved hands pull down a see through Garderbelt. The baroque bedroom interior in the background in gold and rose tones give the image a lush, as well as an intimate feel.

Guido Argentini
Guido Argentini is widely known for his evocative landscapes and stylized color nude photography. The Los Angeles-based artist has freelanced for numerous magazines and has garnered acclaim for his book, Silvereye, which collects sensual photography of nude female models that have been covered in metallic chrome paint.
Born in Florence, Italy, Argentini initially studied medicine at the University of Florence. He left after three years of study to pursue an interest in photography — a passion that brought him to the United States in 1990.
Since the debut of Silvereye in 2003, Argentini has published Private Rooms, Reflections and Shades of a Woman. An admirer of performance art as well as visual art — he has drawn on sculptures by Michelangelo, Auguste Rodin and Constantin Brâncuși — Argentini explored a fusion of motion and eroticism for the images of ballet dancers that are collected in 2013’s Argentum.
Renowned publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Playboy have all featured Argentini’s photography. His work has been exhibited at Todd Kaplan Gallery in California, the James Gallery in Russia and elsewhere.
