Guido Argentini is widely known for his evocative landscapes and stylized color nude photography. The Los Angeles-based artist has freelanced for numerous magazines and has garnered acclaim for his book, Silvereye, which collects sensual photography of nude female models that have been covered in metallic chrome paint.
Born in Florence, Italy, Argentini initially studied medicine at the University of Florence. He left after three years of study to pursue an interest in photography — a passion that brought him to the United States in 1990.
Since the debut of Silvereye in 2003, Argentini has published Private Rooms, Reflections and Shades of a Woman. An admirer of performance art as well as visual art — he has drawn on sculptures by Michelangelo, Auguste Rodin and Constantin Brâncuși — Argentini explored a fusion of motion and eroticism for the images of ballet dancers that are collected in 2013’s Argentum.
Renowned publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Playboy have all featured Argentini’s photography. His work has been exhibited at Todd Kaplan Gallery in California, the James Gallery in Russia and elsewhere.

Thoth, Argentum Series - Limited Edition Fine Art Print
By Guido Argentini
Located in Vienna, AT
Thoth by Guido Argentini is a dramatic close study of the male torso from the acclaimed Argentum series. Cropped tightly around the chest, abdomen and hips, the photograph celebrates muscular structure through an intricate pattern of metallic highlights and deep shadow. The silver-painted surface turns the body into a monumental contemporary sculpture. Argentini’s directional lighting reveals every plane and curve of the anatomy, while the raised arms remain outside the frame and intensify the vertical tension of the composition. By excluding the face, the photographer shifts attention from identity to form, texture and physical presence. Thoth is an exceptional example of modern male nude photography...
