Neal Slavin is an American photographer, born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1941. His thriving career of 40 years has included working for major news, social, and, fashion magazines around the world. He is best known for his photographs of groups and gatherings. These portraits show human relationships and interaction through community. Neal Slavin is included in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, the National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of American Art , the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the International Center of Photography (ICP). He is the recipient of a Fulbring Fellowship and a National Endowment in the Arts grant.

"LLOYD ROD AND GUN CLUB

This local club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the club- house.
According to the philosophy of the club, hunting is a form of conservation even though it sounds destructive. The real objective is to strive for sound conservation practice—to enjoy nature by taking something from it but not abusing it. The organization hopes to instill an appreciation of nature and shooting, and is involved in team and competitive shooting.
To become a member, a person must have a “clean record” and be sponsored by a member in good standing.
The Lloyd Rod and Gun Club is a non-profit organization and is supported by annual membership dues of $10 per member.
General activities include trap shoots and a dinner to raise funds for club and community activities.
The club was started in 1937 by a local conservation officer named Al Roberts and four or five friends.
The group has received a special award from the Boy Scouts. It owns about twenty acres and leases another seven hundred acres. At the end of the season the group holds an annual game dinner, where the members eat what has been shot that season. This includes moose, antelope, bear, deer, duck, pheasant, and partridge. The club is a bona fide member of the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) and the Ulster County Sportsmen Federation, Inc."

Neal Slavin
Neal Slavin, a native New Yorker, began photographing groups in 1972. He quickly realized that shooting in color yielded greater nuance and detail, placing him among the first generation of photographers, along with William Eggleston and Joel Meyerowitz, to fully embrace color photography.
Over the past four decades, Slavin has recorded hundreds of groups from the most obscure to the most celebrated, both in the United States and abroad: Sabrett Hot Dog vendors, NYC; the Silurian Border Morris Men, Herefordshire; the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Salt Lake City; Elephant Keepers with Katie and Kumara, Bedfordshire; and the Mahayana Buddhist Service, NYC.
He has published three books: Portugal (Lustrum Press, 1971), When Two or More Are Gathered Together (Farrar Straus Giroux, 1974); and Britons (Aperture, 1986). His prints have been acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the International Center of Photography (ICP), New York; the National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.; the National Media Museum, London; and the John Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, among many others.

Santa Monica art photographer Cheryl Medow creates images that entice the viewer to enter her world, both real and imagined.
Cheryl Medow's background in the arts is diverse, but interconnected.
Medow studied ceramics at the famed Chouinard Institute and received a BA in Art from UCLA, concentrating on life drawing with charcoal and pastels. Continuing her art education, she studied printmaking at Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
With a wealth of materials and techniques, Medow layers her photographs and weaves them together to create visual narratives.
There have been numerous articles written about her work. Avian Alchemy by Becca Cudmore was published by Audubon News/Culture on June 5, 2015, Proof. National Geographic - An Altered Reality by Becky Harlan along with National Geographics Sunday Stills, Sunday, July 12, 2015 and an article in Inspire Adobe Photoshop For The Birds by Alyssa Coppelman in August.
In 2016, Medow was included in the SLIDESHOW Night at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City, California. She received the Juror's Award at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury Vermont for Great Blue Heron With Chicks Revisited and her print will be exhibited from March 23 through April 22 and White Ibis...
