His photography has been seen in publications and magazines, including The Sunday Times magazine, Stern, Town & Country, Esquire, The New York Times magazine, Life, House & Garden, and Geo Magazine. His photographs can be found in the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, USA. His work encompasses a professional career of over 40 years, during which he has photographed a myriad of subjects including such celebrities as Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Barbra Streisand, and Phil Collins. He is most known for his group portraits, which have been a significant focus throughout his career. He recently created a group portrait for T Magazine of film celebrities that have their roots in NYC, which includes Willem Dafoe, Glenn Close, LaTanya Richardson, Ed Harris, and Loretta Devine, among others. Slavin has received a number of grants and awards. He was one of the first Fulbright Fellows in Photography. He received US National Endowment for the Arts grants and a number of awards from Communication Arts Magazine. In 1986, he was named as the Corporate Photographer of the Year by the American Society of Magazine Photographers. He was also awarded the 1988 Augustus Saint-Gaudens Medal and the 2005 President's Citation by his alma mater, the Cooper Union. This is from a series done about the Habad Hasidic Jewish community in Chicago. This is from the holiday Lag Baomer. Jay Wolke lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. He has had solo exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, the St. Louis Art Museum, Harvard University and the California Museum of Photography. His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the Art Institute of Chicago and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Three monographs of his work have been published: All Around the House: Photographs of American-Jewish Communal Life (Art Institute of Chicago, 1998), Along the Divide: Photographs of the Dan Ryan Expressway (Center for American Places, 2004) and Architecture of Resignation: Photographs from the Mezzogiorno (Center for American Places, 2011). Kehrer Verlag will publish his fourth monograph, Same Dream Another Time, in 2017. Wolke received his B.F.A. in Printmaking / Illustration at Washington University, St. Louis, and an M.S. in Photography at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. Since 1981 he has taught photography and art at various universities. From 1992-1999 he was Coordinator of Graduate Documentary Photography at the Institute of Design (IIT). In 1999-2000 he was Head of Art and Graduate Studies at Studio Art Centers International, Florence, Italy. He is currently a Professor of Photography at Columbia College Chicago, where he also served as Chair of the Art and Design Department from 2000-05 and again from 2008-14. Wolke has received grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Illinois Arts Council, Focus Infinity Fund and the Ruttenberg Arts Foundation. Provenance: From the estate Vic and Rena Rowan Damone, Palm Beach, Florida. Vic Damone was a notable singer, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist. Rena Rowan Damone was the highly successful lead designer and one of the founding members of the clothing company Jones New York. Evelyn Lauder (née Hausner; August 12, 1936 – November 12, 2011) was an Austrian American businesswoman, socialite and philanthropist who has been credited as one of the creators and promoters of the pink ribbon as a symbol for awareness of breast cancer. Lauder, an avid photographer, had a home in Colorado and a penthouse on Fifth Avenue lined with modern art. She was born Evelyn Hausner in 1936 in Vienna, Austria, to a Jewish family. Lauder’s family fled Nazi-occupied Austria in 1938, using their household silver to get visas to Belgium. They then moved on to England where her mother was sent to an internment camp on the Isle of Man and Evelyn was placed in a nursery. The family arrived in New York City in 1940. Lauder would later recall that she was asleep when the ship bringing them to the United States arrived in New York Harbor and her mother woke her up to see the Statue of Liberty During the war years her father worked as a diamond cutter; then the family opened the first of what became a chain of five dress shops in Manhattan. She graduated from Hunter College High School in 1954. She then attended Hunter College, part of the City University of New York, where she studied Psychology and Anthropology and also where she met her future husband, Leonard Lauder, then a trainee naval officer, on a blind date. She graduated from Hunter College in 1958. The couple were married on July 5, 1959. Born and raised in New York City, he graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where he studied privately with Harry Callahan. Jones is President of the Josef and Yaye Breitenbach Foundation originating twenty-eight one-person exhibitions and ten books. He has served as a member of the Board of Fellows at The Center For Creative Photography. Jones is also a former consultant to The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Aperture and the Estate of Paul Strand.
