Tony Kelly's works are easily recognizable through their mix of clear and bright colors, especially red and blue, smooth skin and a sense of surrealism. These traits are combined in 'Footwork' as well. The image depicts a blue pool with crystal-clear water. Four women in red swimsuits and red and blue heels are in the pool; however, only their legs are sticking out of the water, bent at a 90-degree angle.
The entire image is turned on its' side, so the legs appear to be dangling out of the wall of water.
The image is striking with its vivid color and visual language. It captures the viewer by confusing the eye with its' surreal touch.
