Guido Argentini
EIRENE - Metallic Painted Nude, Fine Art Photography, 1995

1995

About the Item

'EIRENE' depicts a nude model covered in silver paint in a acrobatic pose hanging from a Hoop, photographed by Guido Argentini as Part of his Silver Series. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. In the Silver Series, Argentini employed techniques such as covering models with oil or metallic paint and utilizing exquisite lighting to enhance the three-dimensionality of the human form. This approach draws inspiration from classical sculptors like Michelangelo, Rodin, and Brancusi, aiming to transform the human body into living art. In 1995, Argentini began experimenting with silver body paint, leading to a series of photographs where dancers and gymnasts were transformed into metallic statues under studio lights. This technique emphasized the body's sculptural qualities and was further explored in his later work, Argentum. Argentini's use of silver paint and lighting techniques in Silvereye and subsequent works like Argentum highlights his commitment to exploring the interplay between photography, sculpture, and the human form. Argentini's work draws inspiration from classical sculpture and modern photography, merging these elements to create an image that is both timeless and avant-garde. The monochromatic composition emphasizes texture and form, while the pose conveys both vulnerability and empowerment. "Silvereye" invites viewers to reflect on themes of beauty, transformation, and the artistic potential of the human body. This piece stands as a testament to Argentini's masterful ability to elevate fine art photography into the realm of sculptural elegance. Dramatic poses, tender touches, and longing glances populate Guido Argentini’s photographic landscape. The Italian star photographer, celebrated in all genres, has a particular gift for the female nude. Juxtaposing and contextualizing the female body through cityscapes and the natural environment, Argentini playfully compares colour, forms, and moods. His diptychs and singles are suffused with a sense of longing and memory. From beauties in pompous buildings to bondage – the self-taught artist explores every dimension of sensuality. Externalizing the female form in gold and silver, Argentini elevates his subjects to goddesses and mythical creatures of age-old tales. Underwater Study #2615 - Underwater Portrait in Pink, Fine Art Photography, 2005
By Howard Schatz
Located in Vienna, AT
Underwater Study #2615 - Model dressed in pink and orange butterfly Dress underwater, photographed by Howard Schatz for his Series Underwater Studies in 2005. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. Howard Schatz’s Underwater Study #2615 presents a striking and surreal portrayal of underwater beauty and fashion. The photograph features a model floating gracefully beneath the surface, adorned in a vibrant pink and orange flower dress. A giant orange butterfly, perched at the cleavage, adds an element of whimsical extravagance. The model holds her skirt down as she floats, her face turned towards the camera with bright, dramatic makeup, yet her gaze is directed downward, creating a sense of introspection. The entirely black background contrasts sharply with the vivid colors of the dress and butterfly, while the surrounding air bubbles reflect light, adding a subtle sparkle to the scene. Schatz’s expert lighting and composition turn this underwater moment into a mesmerizing visual spectacle, blending high fashion with the ethereal beauty of the aquatic environment. Underwater Study #2615 invites viewers to immerse themselves in a world where elegance meets the surreal, captured in a moment of enchanting stillness. Opulent flower crowns, intertwined bodies, and decadent dinners hosted in underwater worlds – Howard Schatz’s imagery is marked by grandeur and abundance. Transgressing genres and motives, Schatz approaches portraits, nature photography, and the moving body in all its forms with an outburst of passion and energy. Liquid colors, extravagant perspectives, and daring details surprise the onlooker at every corner. Succulent vegetation and airy fabrics bleed into magical compositions. Howard Schatz is an award-winning photographer living in New York City and widely exhibited worldwide. With twenty books of photographs to his credit, Schatz's wide-ranging artistic oeuvre includes studies of actors, dancers, athletes, portraiture, and a world of underwater imagery. His photographs have appeared in countless magazines around the globe, including a running series in Vanity Fair, along with the covers of TIME, Sports Illustrated, US News...
