About the Item

A woman in a purple umbrella is captured in front of Bethesda Fountain Central Park in a driving snowstorm. Her formal pose perfectly aligns with the bronze sculpture so that one element echoes another. The rising arches of the Bethesda Terrace frame the composition. The overall pattern of the snow simplifies the image so that it is simultaneously misty and graphic while harmonizing its component parts. Finally, the brown color of the figure's coat is picked up the the brown architecture. The photograph is Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed and printed later This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum.
