New York V - Framed Contemporary Original Polaroid Photograph
Like much of Pia Clodi's work, 'New York V' leaves a trace of the fast, nomadic life she leads. This work is representative of her more abstract inclinations, that transform the everyday into something more ambiguous and thus, reflective for the viewer.
Pia Clodi’s works encompass moments and mementos from her countless walks through cities as well as nature scapes. These chances, between or during photographic assignments, to illuminate an object, a person or an instance, were quietly collected by Pia Clodi, on her SX70 Polaroid camera. An incredibly poetic practice, of passively capturing calmness and sensuality within otherwise lacklustre material and forms, enables Clodi to inject beauty in the everyday, and invoke nostalgia for quieter and slower experiences.
Inspired by processes of creation, and early practices within photography, from the likes of Anna Atkins, Eugene Atget, William Fox Talbot and Louis Daguerre. Clodi’s work focuses on form and traces of life, over realism - whilst capturing stillness even through movement.
This listing is for the original photographic Polaroid (matte finish), and thus is one of a kind. You will receive this, framed behind a protective UV varnish and glass. There are several color options available for the frame, and we are also able to customise the passepartout (photo mount), to match the style of your interior. See the photographs in situ for an idea of how the passepartout can be changed to be in keeping with your specific space.
Pia Clodi has worked on a number of projects with hospitality clients that have allowed to her to inject spaces with moments of contemplation and reflection through her artworks.
