"Swiss Valais Blacknose Lamb No. 2" Contemporary Photograph on Aluminum Framed

About the Item

"Swiss Valais Blacknose Lamb No. 2" is a framed contemporary photograph on aluminum by Randal Ford depicting a lamb named Klover. This piece is finished in a white floater frame. Pricing includes the pictured frame. Unframed dimensions are 40 x 40 inches. Limited Edition, no. 1 of 10 About the Lamb: "Klover may not have four green leaves, but she’s equally as lucky and rare. A twin to her brother, Kipply, Klover is known for her serene demeanor, a characteristic that’s uncommon for her breed. Unlike the other sheep around her that feed in a frenzy, this little lady makes her way gracefully through the herd, as carefree as a clover waving in the wind." - Randal Ford About the artist: Few photographers in the world have photographed as many animals in studio as Randal Ford. At the heart of every image lies a deep respect for the majesty of wildlife and a resounding recognition of their powerful presence. Ford’s precise process of creating simple yet powerful portraits is highly technical and requires unwavering patience, dedication, and attention to detail. The result is a timeless collection of compelling animal portraits that provide an intimate window into the soul of each animal. In the light of the studio, every animal stands on its own—heroic, mysterious, even charismatic—and while every portrait allows us to see the personality of each animal, Ford believes that we also experience a rare glimpse into the most mystical and elusive breed of all— ourselves. Randal Ford’s works have been showcased in two visual monographs published by Rizzoli New York, as well as the cover of Time Magazine, 20 Texas Monthly covers, USA Today, and the cover of Communication Arts. He has received numerous awards and accolades across multiple industries. Randal Ford’s large format, limited edition works reproduce at scale with stunning detail, incredible depth, and a level of sharpness rarely seen in other animal photographs.

A fan of photography since her early childhood, Mizrakli graduated from Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Interior Decoration Department, and continued her higher education in London, where she started out her work as a photographer. Later on, she moved to New York to further develop her career as a photographer and enrolled in classes at the Photography Department of the New York Film Academy. She received a Master’s Degree in photography in Los Angeles, where she is currently based. Mizrakli has conducted many shooting sessions for Mica Studios and Bullet Magazine in New York and had two solo exhibitions in Los Angeles. She has recently participated in the Contemporary Istanbul Exhibition (November 2013). In some of her black and white works she uses the human body only as a pictorial sign in order to create almost abstract works. First made anonymous, the female model is then cloned and circularly multiplied. The result is a kind of wheel in which the repeated human body gives birth to a new, seemingly vegetal or mineral structure. Thus, the human element seems to be transformed into different other natural...
