About the Item
Kettle II is a lithograph (6 colors, chine collé and gold leaf on Fabriano 50% cotton 300 g paper) by contemporary artist Marcelo Martin Burgos, dimensions are 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in).
The lithograph is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 10 editions, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is sold unframed.
The contemporary artist‘s world is deeply rooted in childhood. Children’s stories, dreams and nightmares, populated by fantastic creatures, demons, monsters and dragons, provide Marcelo Martin Burgos with an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
“Thanks to Wikipedia, now I know Cochinchina was a region in the South of Vietnam. But when I was a kid, I remember people used that name to refer to a very distant place. Actually, it wasn’t Cochinchina, it was Conchinchina, that is why I named all these pots and kettles “Cerámicas de la Conchinchina”. They actually come from far away, from many years ago, when I was a kid and was fascinated by the drawings that were common in teapots. I loved those little scenes full of details. These kettles and teapots bring back those memories in me.”

Marcelo Martin Burgos
Marcelo Martin Burgos lives and works between Buenos Aires and Madrid. The artist’s golden bronze sculptures are anchored in the childhood universe he is fascinated about. Monsters, dragons, robots and other creatures populating childish imagination are the main subjects of his sculpture activity, also fed by the cinematic production he practices in parallel. Bronze, that he appreciates for its versatility and golden finish, allows him to create mirror-like sculptures that reflect the childhood images and memories of those who look at them. “My work is deeply connected to childhood and gold is a way to exalting children creativity. Childhood memories are golden.’’
