Eelus (Lee Pennington) is a self-taught and neurodivergent artist from northern England whose work first emerged on the streets of East London in the early 2000s. Known for his meticulously crafted stencils, he quickly became a notable figure in the UK street art scene.
The success of his debut print editions with the legendary Pictures On Walls allowed Eelus to leave a stifling career in web design, affording him to fully embrace his passion for art.
This courageous leap opened the door to a global audience. Over the years, he has exhibited and painted worldwide, captivating collectors and enthusiasts alike with his striking visual narratives.
Eelus’s work embodies a dance of contrasts—light and dark, monochrome and vivid colour—infused with a sense of the surreal. With precise masking techniques and a variety of tools and mediums, he masterfully blends his grainy, monochromatic figures with vibrant geometric motifs, marrying the mysterious with the playful.

Lee Pennington’s (also known as Eelus) art career began in the north of England in the late ‘80s. At around 10 years old, he peddled a small edition of hand-drawn Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles posters to his friends in the school playground for 10p each. The sale was a marginal success, allowing him to buy an extra chocolate bar or two on his way home. The early 2000s and a move to London opened Eelus’s eyes to the emerging world of street art. He began to experiment with his own stencil based works, painting under the moniker of Eelus. It’s after Banksy encountered the work on the streets of the East End that everything changed for Lee and after a 17 year hiatus he released his second edition through the legendary Pictures on Walls.
