Robert Roesch
"Untitled Environment" 3d printed

2018

About the Item

In a statement Roesch says: "The spires describe my journey on the planet. I have placed spires in rows, in star patterns, and in random placement. The spires in Random placement are to suggest community or centers of activity. My love for wind and water, the night sky and the fractal nature of all things - has been a guiding force in my work. This new body of work reveals the narrative I've been seeking throughout my career. It anticipates a journey having the possibility of an adventure. I see this work as a miniaturization of the forces of nature that inform this sailor's wandering." This work was created by Roesch using a 3d printer. He has created an almost spiritual mini world within this work that conjures up magical and imaginary faraway places. You would expect super heroes to visit in this environment. The contrast of the black texture on the floor and the golden spires that are such an important part of Roesch's art work together so well. the back of the plexi box is mirrored to reflect the spires Roesch has created site specific, major artworks throughout the USA, Europe, China and Japan. His most recent project is a monumental icon “The World in Balance”, Commissioned by the Government of China for the recent G20 Conference- Fall 2016, in Hangzhou, China. He is a member of the Philadelphia Art and Architecture Commission and has received 12 grants, including a Fulbright Specialist Award that brought him to lecture and exhibit throughout Japan in 2006-07 and to represent the United States in the Baku Biennial in 2009. His work is in museum collections Internationally and he has completed 20 major public art projects in the United States including the Gateway to the City of Wichita Kansas and the entrance to Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi. Roesch was a Cultural Advisor to The United States Embassies in Azerbaijan, Egypt, Syria, Argentina, Ecuador, and Myanmar. Their collaborative sculpture “Transduction” is a permanent installation at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. He was an invited artist in the 2007 and 2009 Biennials in Egypt and was the guest of the Chinese Government and the Academy of Fine Arts in Hang Zhou, in 2008 where he built a solar powered sculpture for their Westlake area and returned to China in 2010 to complete a second sculpture Rainwall-”a Moment in the Garden” sited in downtown JianDe. Currently He is working on a concept to solar energize LED lighting. Together with slender four sided spires the lights will act as a “ground” lighting the imagination to faraway places.

"4 RED Boxes illusion sculpture" 2022 28x25x8"
By Sanseviero
Located in Southampton, NY
Sanseviero's metal sculptures fool the eye. His "illusion sculptures" are amazingly only 1/16th of an inch thick and yet they appear to be 3 dimensional boxes with open centers that are stacked on top of each other. I have included a side view so that you can see how thin this illusion sculpture is. He first designs how the formation of "Boxes" will layout and then hand cuts the shape he has just designed. He then welds the flat sculpture...

"Wild Day in Gotham" 42x30" mixed media canvas, Batman, Superman, Bullet holes
By Ceravolo
Located in Southampton, NY
A worthless painting is stolen and Batman and Robin summon The Flash and Superman to help capture the thief while "G" the gopher practices his painting technique...____________ but why for a worthless painting.________________ to be continued. This one of a kind, work on canvas titled "Wild Day in Gotham" measures 42x30" framed, canvas size is 40x28". It combines images of Ceravolo's original super hero paintings with a mixture of images from vintage comic books. Once Ceravolo is satisfied with the composition he then prints the one of a kind image on canvas at his studio using pigmented inks and then adds hand work to the art with spray paint, acrylic and polymer. Ceravolo's paintings are in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. HEFNER, DAVID BRENNER, MONIQUE VAN VOOREN, WARNER BROS., RCA RECORDS AND SCHENLEY INDUSTRIES to name a few. His Large scale paintings have received international acclaim for more four decades and his art came to popular attention when he was commissioned to create 5 large scale oil on canvas portraits of Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Frank Zappa, Neil Young and Hall and Oates for the lobby of The Palladium Theatre in New York City. I have included images of Ceravolo with some of his celebrity collectors along with the story "Rock and Roll Painter" from the vintage music magazine...

Her mostly translucent materials function as physical framework and symbolic membrane. Light, both natural and ambient, provides a kinetic or time-based element to her work. Scale and the integration of architecture are also pivotal components. In the 6-part installation for the two-person exhibition Illuminated, Yarrington continues her interest in the connections between vision, sound and language. In Mute-ability: Compositions 1 – 6, her title for this light-based comprehensive work, she combines the words mute and malleability. The work focuses on found piano rolls, a music storage medium, originally conceived as coded notations or ‘note control data’ for music produced in pneumatic player pianos...
