Italian stainless steel.
This sculpture will be shipped directly from the artist's studio.
All sculptures are made with the highest quality Italian stainless steel available and imported from the Milan, Italy area. They are hand made by directly welding piece by piece together of the Italian stainless steel plates into sculptures full of movement and light. The surface is finished with high quality mirror finish intertwined with fish scale and opaque highlights to accentuate the planes and depth of the sculpture. Some sculptures have a special tinted finish such as red and blue which allows to see the stainless steel full reflectivity but adds a beautiful color palatte to the sculpture. Other sculptures contrast rusted steel or blue jean texture with stainless steel to accentuate the beauty of the opposites.
Many of the sculptures are free of a base allowing them to be totally free in time and space. They can be placed vertically or horizontally allowing to have multiple sculpture renditions in one. The collector becomes part of the artistic expression by selecting the position which fullfills more his or her artistic taste. Other sculptures have a pin mechanism which allows the collector to select there favorite angle. State-of –the-art LED lights can be added to take the sculpture into a whole new sculptoric level by providing interesting color accents during the day or at night. The LED lights can be easily programed to different setting which can have a power symbolic impact (i.e. Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness) or incorporate natures rythmic cycles such as slow breathing or the waves washing on the beach in and out. The lights can be synchronized with music crescendos and descrescendos if so desired.The artist provides the artistic framework so the viewer and collector can be part of the artistic experience and, hence, take it to its fullest expression

Santiago Medina
Using his skills as a physician accomplished at MRI and 3D imaging, master sculptor Santiago Medina combines technological sophistication with artistic expression to create timeless abstract sculptures.
Born in 1964 in Medellin, Colombia, Medina had a passion for art at an early age and studied at the DR Bellas Artes Institute in Colombia from 1972 to 1981. From 1983 to 1987, he furthered his art education at the Spanish Academy of Art while also pursuing his medical training at CES University in Medellin. After graduating with his doctor of medicine, Medina attended Harvard Medical School in Boston and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 1990 to 1997, specializing in medical imaging, radiology and anatomy. The following year, he continued his artistic studies at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
As a sculptor, Medina uses 3D imaging technology to mold and shape Italian stainless steel into beautiful still-life sculptures, each bestowed with fluidity and elegance. To enhance his visually interesting works, he adds tints of color using aerospace paint, as seen in such abstract and contemporary pieces as Flame, Cupid and Perseverance.
Medina’s works have garnered critical acclaim. Along with notable English artist Henry Moore, Medina is one of the few sculptors to have a permanent monumental sculpture at Harvard University. Additionally, his works are featured in public art venues at Stanford University, Tufts University, CES Contemporary Art Museum, Florida International University and the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
Medina’s avant-garde sculptures have been shown at major exhibitions and art fairs worldwide, including the New York Art Fair, Art Basel Miami Beach, Houston Art Fair, Art Market San Francisco, Hamptons Art Fair and the International Art Fair of Bogotá.

Anachronic is a piece in a body of work exploring sound and the way that it inhabits space in the built environment. The pattern, repetition, and weaving represent the rhythm, texture, and syncopation of sound. This piece represents an envelope of sound, a finite piece of time, a controlled environment. It is heavily influenced by my time as a DJ and the practice of connecting patterns. It is about a controlled process - the merging of a creative practice with an understanding of materials and technique.
