"Neolithic Implements" by David Sprakes is an original table-top marble sculpture that channels the essence of ancient tools and artifacts. Crafted in marble and presented in a limited edition, this artwork embodies Sprakes' unique ability to blend contemporary abstraction with echoes of the distant past.
The sculpture's style is abstract yet suggestive, featuring neolithic forms arranged on a round base. Each form is intricately sculpted to evoke the primal tools and implements used by early civilizations, inviting viewers to delve into the mysteries of human history.
Rendered in shades of grey, "Neolithic Implements" exudes a timeless allure that transcends epochs. The subtle variations in color and texture enhance the sculpture's organic quality, imbuing it with a sense of authenticity and ancient wisdom.
Signed by the artist, this sculpture is a testament to Sprakes' artistic prowess and imaginative vision. Ready to be displayed, it serves as a captivating focal point for any tabletop or display area, sparking contemplation and curiosity with its abstract representation of antiquity.

Artist biography:
David’s sculpture evolves through enquiry, investigation and exploration. Drawing, maquette studies, clay modelling, mould-making, casting, construction and carving illustrate the breadth of techniques involved.
The tactile sensory qualities of objects and environments, both man-made and natural are a constant source of inspiration to me. Form, space, surface, rhythm, texture and the shape and the feel of things play a central role in the development and construction of my work. My analytical and experimental approach to sculpture aims to open up new ways of seeing and relating to three dimensional form for the spectator. The themes that recur are abstraction, eroded, weathered, unearthed forms and structures found and seen in the fabricated and natural world. An underpinning concept is truth to materials, allowing their visual and tactile qualities to become a key message of my sculpture.
