About the Item
“LarA 015” is a unique hand-tinted cement sculpture by Spanish artist José Perozo, part of his ongoing LarA series exploring the human body through the lens of anthropotecture — a conceptual fusion of architecture and corporeality. The bust combines the symbolic presence of a female face with a rising cluster of miniature architectural forms, transforming the head into a vertical settlement. This interplay invites reflections on identity, self-dwelling, and the architecture of memory.
The sculpture is rendered in high-density concrete with a soft rosy pink pigment applied by hand, and finished with a semi-matte varnish formulated for cement. Subtle tonal shifts, casting pores, and minute surface irregularities contribute to its singular material character. The composition includes fine aggregates for enhanced detail, reinforced with acrylic fibers and water-reducing agents for long-term structural integrity.
Each piece in the LarA series is produced using the same silicone mold but manually pigmented, ensuring chromatic variation and unique surface qualities. It is shipped in a made-to-measure crate (27 x 35 x 23 cm, total approx. 6 kg), fully insured for international delivery.

José Perozo (Vigo, 1978) is a Spanish sculptor with a background in Sculpture from Mestre Mateo in Compostela and Scenic Machinery and Set Construction from Escénica in Granada. His artistic trajectory is characterized by an exploration of the relationship between the human body and architecture, employing an industrial and scenographic language that blends the dreamlike with the structural.
Since 2017, Perozo has presented a series of solo exhibitions that have defined his artistic identity. Notable among these are Bastións, held at the University Church of Santiago de Compostela, and Fragmentaria, developed during his residency at the Eugenio Granell Foundation, where he began to reinterpret the human body as an architectural construct. His work gained international visibility in 2020 with an exhibition at the PO.RO.S Museum in Coimbra (Portugal) and participation in global projects such as the Ibero-American Rotary Club collective exhibition in Portugal. Highlights of his recent career include the solo show ANTROPOTECTURA at Monty4 Gallery (A Coruña) in 2023 and appearances at major art fairs like Hybrid Art Fair and Estampa (Madrid).
