Nando Kallweit is a sculptor living in Germany. He specializes in figurative sculptures made of wood and bronze. Kallweit's works of art are exhibited in galleries and art fairs worldwide. What is striking in the layout of the figures, all of which are rough in surface quality, are their elongated limbs, their narrow stature, a graceful and filigree appearance that strives upwards in an almost Gothic manner and, in its stele-like and austere nature, they are both - ancient and a little Nordic. They don't want to invoke purposes, they are simply there, waiting to be encountered. They mark space through nothing other than their autonomy. All bronzes are made in limited editions, numbered and dated on the base of the bronze. Experience the unique art world of Nando and bring it to your home. The bronzes mostly exist as part of editions with sometimes 7, sometimes 13, sometimes 25 pieces. Kallweit works with both small and large figures. Nando Kallweit
Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor working in bronze and oak. As a young boy, he was inspired by the beauty and antiquity of a bust of Nefertiti housed in the Egyptian Museum of Berlin. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, his new-found freedoms allowed him to travel to Egypt and develop his belief in the basic strength and pride inherent in inhumanity. His sculptures seek to emphasize this through elongated forms and upright postures. He reduces the figures to simple gestures and movements creating sculptures with a wonderful interplay between the archaic and the modern; between art and design. Nando’s work has been exhibited across Europe and is held in many private collections. He has produced a number of large scale permanent installation pieces for German municipalities and museums.
