Magdalena Peszkowska born in 1980 in Gdańsk, Poland. Studied in Department of Painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (1999-2004). Diploma with special recognition in painting in 2004.
The character of Magdalena Peszkowska's works Series Stand is like an poetic archive of memories, which call for a classification and reconstruction of the time of childhood and the intense experience of time with everything around it. Gdansk - where the artist comes from - becomes a mythical place, This city, with a very strong symbolic potential inherent in its history, needs editing from a single point of view. Magdalena Peszkowska uses her own photos or those from the family album. She transfers them to gray field blankets and camp beds with her own secret technology Then she paints on the used objects. Many of her objects show figures from the closest circle of Peszkowska, often it is herself, her family or places close to her in Gdansk. Her objects have intentional signs of use.
The field blankets have a sewn-in wooden bar to hang them on the wall.
The field military beds...

Clown Holding Teddy Bear, Unique Bronze Expressionist Sculpture
Located in Surfside, FL
Agnes Yarnall LePage, began studying sculpture at the age of 6 at the Liberty Tadd School of Modeling. She went on to study with Charles Grafly at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before opening her own studio in the late 1920s, with the support of her parents, Anna B. Coxe and Charlton Yarnall.
Over the years, Ms. Yarnall's work included numerous portraits, human figures and animal sculptures. Among her proudest achievements were busts of George Washington and General Lafayette, displayed at the Valley Forge Historical Society, and of Abraham Lincoln, at the Union League of Philadelphia. She also counted among her premier accomplishments busts she sculpted of Ronald Reagan, Jack Nicklaus and Pope John Paul II. One reviewer who had seen her depictions of Edna St. Vincent Millay, Dame Judith Anderson, Carl Sandburg and Sir John Gielgud lauded her work for its ''sensitivity, grace and dynamism," her family said. During her early career Ms. Yarnall studied and worked with such great artists as Boris Blai, Paul Manship and Alexander Archipenko.
In addition to her long career in sculpture, she also was an accomplished poet. Her books included Indian Summer, Hesperides and Other Poems and Pandora and Other Poems. In 1987 Ms. Yarnall was presented with the Living Legacy Award as ''Evocatrix Extraordinary" by the Women's International Center, joining such honorees as Dame Judith Anderson, Clare Boothe...

XOX Chill Yellow 1/10 - graphic, pop-art, figurative, resin sculpture
By Viktor Mitic
Located in Bloomfield, ON
Playful, colourful and imaginative, Viktor Mitic’s latest series of sculptures appear to merge pop art with science fiction. The colour palette is fun, bright and contemporary—a sunny yellow. These 3-D figures began as digital creations, sculpted out of resin and painted. Their form was initially inspired by the towering abstract sculptures Mitic produced from images of paint splashes on his studio floor. Edition one of ten.
“This character has emerged from a shadow of one of my sculptures (as in the video) I have always been a fan of science as well as science fiction writing and movies. For me, X-O-X is a ‘being’ that came out of a technological world possibly from another galaxy.” Viktor Mitic
“As an icon, or hybrid worthy Viktor Mitic- X-O-X has a synthetic, playful identity. It’s culturally a fusion of influences brought together in one formal public sculpture.” John K. Grande, author, poet, essayist
He earned a BFA from the University of Toronto in 1995 with studies in art history at Sheridan College. He has exhibited his post-Pop inspired...

Medusa and Andromeda
By Magdeburger Kunstwerkstatten Reps and Trinte
Located in West Hollywood, CA
Medusa and Andromeda, is a unique three dimensional terra cotta sculpture/vase, created by the German firm Magdeburger Kunstwerkstatten, Reps and Trinte, a studio that specialized in fine works in terra cotta.
This monumental piece depicts the entire story of the Medusa, who holds Andromeda captive by chaining her to rocks in the ocean. You can see the chains at her wrists and ankles. Medusa charges the Leviathan (dragon) as guard over the captive Andromeda. Andromeda was rescued by her future husband Perseus who killed the dragon and saved his future bride.
This is one of the most unique works of its kind that has been seen to date. It was probably a sculpture/vase designed and created for presentation at one of the yearly Salon exhibitions in Europe. We have consulted experts in European ceramics...

Little Girl Standing
By Philippe Chambault
Located in Pasadena, CA
Philippe Chambault
The artist was born August 9, 1930, in Châtenay-Malabry (Hauts-de-Seine), where he did his primary schooling. Then he studied art at the School of Applied Arts in Paris, and especially at the woodcarving workshop.
In 1954, he entered the studio of the sculptor Georges Serraz (the author of Christ-Roi des Houches), and he replaced Henri Dunand, who returned to Vallorcine to run the family business (this is also his friendship with the latter who is the cause of his installation as a secondary residence in Vallorcine, from 1961).
He meets the sculptor Louis Derbré, become one of the leaders of the figurative renewal, and befriends him. It is at his instigation that he participates in different salons. He won two national awards: the Fénéon Fellowship in 1956 and the Vikings Prize in 1957. In 1961, he joined J. Balme, a medal publisher in Saumur. Since then, he has created the creations of this house: commemorative medals. On the other hand, Philippe Chambault has kept a small activity as an independent sculptor, often in sacred art. His most important work, created for a Strasbourg seminar, is a three-meter-high wooden and copper crucifix...

Plains Indian Medallion, bronze, Nambe, Allan Houser, small life-time casting
By Allan Houser

Plains Indian Medallion, bronze, Nambe, Allan Houser, small life-time casting
Allan Houser (Haozous), Chiricahua Apache 1914-1994 recipient of the National Medal of Arts in 1992. Allan Houser's father Sam, was part of the small band of Apaches who traveled with Geronimo and surrendered in southern Arizona in 1886. Allan's parents were imprisoned with that group in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was the first child to be born in freedom to those Apaches and a fluent speaker of the Chiricahua language. Allan Houser is an important artist in that he is of the culture he depicts in his artwork. Allan's parents would tell stories and sing songs recalling the experiences on the war path. This bronze edition is a life-time casting. Our gallery represented Allan Houser from 1974 until his passing in 1994 and were investors and provided quality control in the foundry process. Allan Houser's work is many international collections including the Georges Pomidou Centre, The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, The Dahlem Museum among others.
Allan’s first bronze sculptures were started in the late 1960’s and were cast at Nambe Foundry. At the time the foundry was producing both Nambeware and was doing some sculptural foundry work. There was a fire at Nambe and they lost many of the molds for sculpture as well as their records. We acquired these works directly from Allan Houser.

Allan Houser’s father Sam Haozous, surrendered at the age of 14 with Geronimo and his band of Warm Springs Chiricahua Apache people in 1886 in Southern Arizona. This was the last active war party in the United States.
This group of Apache people was imprisoned for 27 years starting in Fort Marion, Florida and finally living in captivity in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Allan Houser was born in 1914.
His artwork is an ongoing testimony to Native life in America – its beauty, strength and poignancy. Allan Houser is from the culture and portrayed his people in an insightful and authentic way. Because of the era in which he lived, he had a rare understanding of American Indian life. Allan was the first child born after the Chiricahua Apaches were released from 27 years of captivity. Allan grew up speaking the Chiricahua dialect. Allan heard his father’s stories of being on the warpath with Geronimo and almost nightly heard his parents singing traditional Apache music. Allan’s father knew all of Geronimo’s medicine songs.
Allan had an early inclination to be artistic. He was exposed to many Apache ceremonial art forms: music, musical instruments, special dress, beadwork, body painting and dynamic dance that are integral aspects of his culture. His neighbors were members of many different tribes who lived in Oklahoma. Allan eagerly gained information about them and their cultures. Allan gathered this information and mentally stored images until he brought them back to life, years later, as a mature artist.
Allan Houser was represented by Glenn Green Galleries (formerly known as The Gallery Wall, Inc.) from 1973 until his death in 1994. The gallery served as agents, advocates, and investors during this time.
In 1973 the Greens responded enthusiastically to the abstraction and creativity in Houser’s work. They were impressed, not only with his versatility and talent but with the number of mediums he employed. His subject matter was portrayed in styles ranging from realism, stylized form to abstraction.
With encouragement from the Greens, Houser at the age of 61, retired from his post as the head of the sculpture department at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1975 to begin working full-time creating his art. The next 20-year period was an exciting time for Allan, the gallery, and for the Green family. He created a large body of sculpture in stone, wood and bronze. For many years Glenn Green Galleries co-sponsored many editions of his bronzes and acted as quality control for the bronze sculptures according to Houser’s wishes.
As both agents and gallery representatives, the Greens promoted and sold his art in their galleries in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona and in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They had bi-annual exhibits in their galleries to feature Houser’s newest work and sponsored and arranged international museum shows in America, Europe and Asia. They travelled for these events including a trip to Carrara, Italy to the famed quarries of Michelangelo and together co-financed and arranged the purchase of 20 tons of marble.
A watershed event for Allan Houser’s career occurred in the early 1980’s when Glenn Green Galleries arranged with the US Information Agency a touring exhibit of his sculpture through Europe. This series of exhibits drew record attendance for these museums and exposed Houser’s work to an enthusiastic art audience. This resulted in changing the perception of contemporary Native art in the United States where Houser and Glenn Green Galleries initially faced resistance from institutions who wanted to categorize him in a regional way. The credits from the European exhibits helped open doors and minds of the mainstream art community in the United States and beyond.
Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii was a supporter of Allan Houser’s artwork. We worked with Senator Inouye on many occasions hosting events at our gallery and in Washington D.C in support of the formation of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. and other causes supporting Native Americans.
Allan Houser is shown below presenting his sculpture “Swift Messenger” to Senator Inouye in Washington, D.C.. This sculpture was eventually given to the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian’s permanent collection. It is now currently on loan and on display in the Oval Office. President Biden’s selection of artwork continues our gallery’s and Allan’s connection to the White House from our time working with Allan Houser from 1974 until his passing in 1994.
“It was important for President Biden to walk into an Oval that looked like America and started to show the landscape of who he is going to be as president,” Ashley Williams...

Hospitality - Bronze Sculpture by Orfeo Tamburi - Late 1900
Located in Roma, IT
Hospitality - Sculpture is a fine sculpture realized by the Italian artist Orfeo Tamburi (Jesi, 1910- Paris, 1994) during the 20th century.
Edition of 99 exemplars.
Bonded bronze sculpture with a golden patina. Mounted on a Guatemala green marble base. Guatemala green marble, as its name suggests, is a marble coming from India, also known ad India Green; it is characterized by an intense green color with white veins with an irregular and uneven shape.
Dimensions: cm 10 x 10 x 2 (base); cm 29 (height of sculpture). Excellent conditions.
This artwork - born on a project realized by the artist in the 1930's and manufactured posthumous - represents a sensual nude woman who symbolizes the hospitality. Delightful creation by the great Italian painter Orfeo Tamburi.
He firstly embraced the principles of the Roman School, from which he matured an evocative language with warm chromatic intonations that found favorite themes in portraits and urban views. After a trip to Paris where he discovered the painting of Cèzanne, the artist began a long friendship with Giuseppe Ungaretti, the director Marcello Pagliaro and Curzio Malaparte...

Biography
Dan Super (1873-1953)
Dan E. Super, Jr. (1873 – 1953) Dan Super had the eye of a sculptor, envisioning and then creating hundreds of objects from the elongated form of a Texas Longhorn’s tusk. At the age of six, Dan Super carved his first drawing into a piece of the horn of a Texas Longhorn. Over the next 56 years, he made utilitarian pieces like pencil cups, pin cushions, and backscratchers, realistic replicas of animals and birds, and imaginative carvings of elegant nudes. While these carvings resemble the traditional art of scrimshaw, carvings from whale bone, we’ve not been able to identify another carver who used the Texas Longhorn as his material. “My work is done with an ordinary pocketknife, hacksaw file and rasp,” Super wrote in 1937. He used the horn in every way conceivable; whole, allowing the shape to define the object he was making, flattened to make mosaic or inlay work. He incised and pierced it and carved in the round. His own hands polished the horn to a sheen. Daniel Super, Jr. was born in Houston on August 22, 1873. His father owned stock years, D. Super and Brothers Co., providing the young Super with ready access to his raw material. Throughout his life, he worked in the businesses key to the identity and success of young, booming Houston, cattle, oil, real estate and rail. In 1896 he married Lula, and took over the family business, expanding it to include a grocery. He closed the company in 1912 and got into the oil business...
