About the Item
This wonderful bronze by Antonio de Fillipo (1900-1993) depicts the regal Great Dane.
It bears a warm, satiny patina and is in excellent condition. The dog stands 10" high x 13" long and 4 1/4 inches wide.
The sculpture bears the artist's name and the foundry mark which reads: "Roman Bronze Works.N.Y."
Antonio de Fillipo is best known for his famous Monitor Memorial monument in Brooklyn, which honored John Ericsson, the monitor's inventor, and is placed in Monsignor McGolrick Park.
