Elizabeth Art Candy
Nature-Inspired 3D Pop Art Clay Mosaic Sculpture in Earthy Tones. "Ghianda". .

2024

About the Item

"Ghianda" is a nostalgic and tactile artwork from Elizabeth Art Candy’s Fake Gum’s series, where small, familiar objects are transformed into sculptural treasures. Using hand-modeled natural clay, low-temperature fired, and arranged in her signature confetti-like mosaic technique, the artist reimagines an acorn—an enduring symbol of nature, memory, and autumnal play. Set against a bold blue hexagonal background, the detailed surface of the acorn is composed of countless spherical clay elements, blending earthy browns, forest greens, soft creams, and crisp whites. This careful color layering creates a sense of depth and organic texture, recalling the simple childhood act of collecting acorns beneath oak trees—a gesture tied to both innocence and appreciation of nature’s harmony. Elizabeth Art Candy (Verona, 1980) is known for her ability to fuse pop aesthetics, tactile artistry, and emotional symbolism, turning everyday moments into collectible sculptural pieces. Ghianda serves as both a personal memory and a universal icon of the passage of time, making it a unique addition to contemporary art collections. Designed to be displayed as a standalone piece or in combination with others from the series, Ghianda is perfect for collectors and interior designers seeking a playful yet sophisticated nature-inspired artwork. The City of Books shows a map of an imaginary city made up by words: 140 quotations, taken from 40 different books and chosen following the criterion of analogy, give rise to 12 tales that compose the roads of the city. The artwork sees literature cross over into art, exit from books, and is an homage to the transformation process that leads the reader to become author, mixing roles; reading become writing, creating an access between two actions intimately connected. 1970s Large Wood, Copper Inlay Sculpture Wall Relief Tropical Flowers Motif
By Helen Weber
Located in Surfside, FL
Helen Weber Large wall hanging wood and metal sculptural relief in a tropical Hawaiian or Polynesian motif with tropical flowers. "Art belongs everywhere from cruise ships to churches" This has been the mantra of Helen Webber since she began her career in the 1970’s creating hundreds of art works for public spaces throughout the United states and abroad. It was her strongly held belief that art can touch the spirit of many more people than those whose art experiences are limited to the halls and walls of museums and galleries. Her bold and richly hued art works executed in a wide variety of media, such as tapestry, glass, metal wood and clay have been installed in universities, corporations, medical facilities, cruise ships, hotels, religious spaces, community and civic centers and even in a train station. Over the years many architects and interior designers have collaborated with Helen Webber finding that her work enhanced their designed environments, giving her the opportunity to create art for well known corporations as well as multitudes of residences. It is the tapestries that she is best known for, and it is this medium that dominates the largest body of her work, which was first introduced to the design world in the mid 1970's. The tapestries utilize a fabric collage technique combining an array of designer upholstery fabrics such as velvets, brocades, worsteds, jacquards, mohair, hand woven woolens, among many others. Yarns of all kinds are integrated into the tapestries surrounding the edges of each fabric piece. Some clients, who saw that Webber’s particular art style could be expressed in a variety of media, offered her commissions in stained and etched glass, wood collage, sculpted tile...
