Sculptural ring designed by Dinh Van for Cartier. A stunning very rare ring, created back in the late 1960's by the artist Jean Dinh Van for the house of Cartier. This sculptural piece has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. This ring is part of the Cartier collection called Astrales. The fabulous design is made up of two oval plates semi bent towards the outside, which are holding two spheres of different dimensions in suspension. This astral representation simulates the planet earth and its moon. History This ring it belongs to the period of 1969 and 1970. In 1969, Michael Thomas became president of the New York City branch and was instrumental in hiring young designers who modernized the company’s lines such Cesar, Aldo Cipullo, Jean Dinh Van, Roger Lucas, Jean Mahie, and Lisa Sotilis.
