Enric Porta Mestre Landscape Paintings
Enric Porta Mestre was a Catalan painter dedicated mainly to children's painting and still life and the landscapes of his land in which his artist sensibility volcanoes. Sometimes, he used abundant fillings within a traditional framework. In 1922, Mestre exhibited in Barcelona and went to Paris to expand his studies, where he met Fauvista Miquel Villà. From then on, the Fauvista master spent the summers in the Pobla de Segur. Upon returning from France, he exhibited several rooms and individually at the Syra Galleries of Barcelona, then owned by Montserrat Isern. Mestre had been the object of art critics such as Sebastià Gasch, Masgrau, Tristan la Rosa, always favorable, praising the honesty of his painting, mastery of color and his personality. He was passionate about Courbet and Cézanne, who perhaps influenced his work. Mestre was undoubtedly a master of Catalan painting of the 20th century.
