For the Cascata (Italian for “waterfall”), which debuted in the 1960s, Nason achieved the effect of cascading water through an inverted pyramid of hanging glass plates, each individually mouth-blown and suspended from a chrome-plated frame for a dazzling, Art Deco–styled display. Lit from behind, the plates have a glittering, iridescent quality. Versions of the lamp range from 30 inches to over six feet in height, with large models featuring more than 20 individual light sockets.
Nason, who continues to live and work in Murano today, would go on to produce artful lighting for Mazzega until at least 1980. While Mazzega 1946 offers contemporary editions of Nason’s design — now called “Water Fall” — vintage examples of the Cascata chandelier...

Aldo Tura Italian designer, from the 50s, inspired by the movements of Art Deco and modernism, creates unique and prestigious furniture characterised by rich materials, sculptural shapes and exclusive techniques.
Exotic materials such as parchment and goatskin, combined with bright shades of red, green and yellow characterise his art. Tura favours the use of complex shapes and techniques that are difficult to reproduce in a large-scale production to maintain the authenticity of its pieces. At the age of 11 he began working in the furnace and refined his skill by making eighteenth-century glass.
Just over twenty years old he becomes an excellent Master glassmaker, also distinguishing himself with the newly born processing of heavy artistic glass.
'He takes as designers in the family factory ''Seguso Vetri d'Arte'' first Vittorio Zecchin and then Flavio Poli.'
Since the 1930s he has been invited to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, where, until 1972, there was the 'Venezia' Pavilion dedicated to Murano glass.

Flos rod lamp Papillona model, design by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, 80s, with black lacquered steel rod. The lamp is of the first model released, with switch and foot slider to adjust the light intensity and mounts its original 300w halogen lamp, but it can also mount the new low power led lamps.
The lamp is working and in excellent condition, with original lacquer intact and with a clearly visible mark in the lampshade, the diffuser glasses have been replaced. From their first meeting at the IUAV in Venice until the transfer to the Venetian countryside, her place of origin, the son of Carlo Scarpa, Tobia appunto (class 1935) and Afra Bianchin (class 1937) first shared a degree - it was 1957 and the two officially became architects - then a marriage and a career that marked their lives and those of Italian drawing at the turn After the laurel wreath, after Tobia was in service for the Venini glassworks in Murano (but only for a few months), it seems that it was Franco Albini who sparked between the two.
