1920s American Sterling Silver Tapersticks

A fine and impressive pair of antique American cast sterling silver tapersticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection.
These impressive antique American sterling silver tapersticks have an octofoil panelled form, replicating the details of a Classic English George I style.
The plain panelled waisted cylindrical capitals are encircled with protruding scalloped borders to the rims.
Each plain waisted column bears a panelled bulbous knop to the upper portion and further scalloped decoration to the lower.
The columns surmount octagonal shaped, incurved bases with a sunken well and plain collet style rim.
Each candlestick does not have a weighted base.
The underside of each base bears the maker's mark 'James Robinson' and 'sterling' standard mark.
Condition
These antique tapersticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The hallmarks struck to the underside of each base are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George V English sterling silver and enamel Art Deco candlesticks; an addition to our antique silverware collection
These exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver piano candlesticks have a plain tapering square form onto a circular spreading base.
The cylindrical capitals are each embellished with a band of guilloche enamel to a plain circular sconce.
The capitals are supported by square tapering columns, ornamented with black enamel panels and accented with impressive Art Deco silver motif to one side.
The geometric designs are embellished with eighteen pavé set marcasites.
The base of each Art Deco piano candle holder is ornamented with further guilloche enamel, to a plain collet style rim.
Both of these impressive antique candlesticks have filled bases and bear Bakelite to the undersides.

Georgian Sterling Silver Column Candlesticks (1803)

A magnificent, exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of large antique Georgian English sterling silver architectural column candlesticks; part of our ornamental silverware collection.
These magnificent antique Georgian English sterling silver candlesticks have a plain subtly tapering columnar form.
The large and impressive Corinthian capital of each candlestick retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce ornamented with a plain moulded rim.
The cylindrical columns are supported by a cuboid plinth to an impressive plain square stepped three tier base.
Each plinth is embellished with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting the Head family coat of arms encircled with a belt accented with the family motto 'Study Quiet'.
The bases retain the original contemporary engraved inscription 'A token of respect from Francis Head to her aunt Dame Mary Ann Head. 1803' to the lowest tier.
Both candlesticks are fitted with turned mahogany bases to the underside.
These magnificent Georgian candlesticks were crafted by George Eadon, George Kibbles & John Weaver of George Eadon & Co.
The title ‘Dame’ was the traditional style for the wife of a baronet at this time and before although it was interchangeable with the title ‘Lady’.

The cylindrical capital of this antique silver taper candlestick is encircled with moulded girdles, in addition to a shaped scalloped chased decorated border to the rim; the capital surmounts a lobed floral petal style drip pan.
The exceptional cast sterling silver column has been modelled in the form of a Harlequin.
This impressive figural column surmounts a domed circular shaped base ornamented with chased scrolling leaf and floral ornamentation.
This Harlequin taperstick does not have a weighted base.

A magnificent, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Danish sterling silver two light Pomegranate pattern candelabra made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection
These magnificent and rare antique Danish cast sterling silver candelabra have a circular bulbous form, in the Pomegranate pattern.
The surface of each exceptional example of antique silverware has a subtly planished finish.
Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked scrolling arms, supporting two rounded organic-shaped baluster capitals with plain circular dished drip pans.
The scrolling arms of each candelabra incorporate magnificent scrolling leaf and bead decoration, all in the Arts and Crafts style.
The plain bulbous columns surmount a plain circular foot, accented with a petal decorated border to the junction.
The bases of these magnificent cast candelabra are not weighted.
The hallmarks struck to the underside and one of arm of each include:
