A magnificent original Art Deco Ring with two beautiful natural round Red - Salmon Coral Cabochons set in a stunning Art Deco design in 14 Karat Gold. The ring is a masterpiece of the Art Deco period with its dramatic color and style yet very clean lines. The ring features the two absolutely gorgeous natural Red - Salmon Coral cabochon gems. I love the color and cut of this Coral. The round coral cabochons are each 1/2 inch in diameter and the total length of the top of the ring is 1 inch. Such a dramatic and wonderful antique Art Deco Coral jewel. And we love our antique coral in this vivid color. The interior of the ring band is engraved with initials which I believe are A R and the date 1924 and hallmarked 585 for 14 Karat Gold. This is a very rare ring depicting a snake traveling through the grass in the historic Japanese art form of Shakudo, in 14 Karat Gold. The Shakudo pieces originated in the Samurai period in Japan and were created by esteemed artists who made ornaments to adorn swords and armor. When the Samurai period ended, these artists moved to making wearable art during the period of the 1870s - 1900. Here we have a very rare Shakudo piece of a snake traveling through grass.
