The 'Butterfly in the dining table version made of solid wood is a project that Hannes Peer together with Claudio Spotti of SEM have been pursuing for a long time. The final decision came in view of the Salone 2021. The aim was to create a piece of furniture that was aesthetically the child of the iconic 'Butterfly' console but constructively it had to be diametrically opposed. The 'Butterfly' Dining Table is in fact made with several layers of solid poplar wood composed as a structure and receives its external finish with a 'Masselletto' of Canaletto Walnut with a velvety surface. An immediately visible detail is the so called 'Butterfly' Joint at the center of each leg that characterizes this design object and renders it unique. Born in 1980 in Verona, Designer Paolo Cappello graduated in Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano. Aftera three year collaboration with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba in Milan, in 2007 he setup his own studio in Verona where he collaborates with other professionals in architecture, communication and graphics. A column made of brass whose different diameters define base and capital, just as the columns of classic architecture.
The column multiplies to infinity, is interrupted and then resumed to hold glass tops, wood or marble and configure even angular shelves, tables, small tables, displays and consoles. A landscape of almost infinite possibilities that designers and end users can chose from to organize the space both in domestic and contract situations, maintaining aesthetic uniformity in the name of a more refined elegance.
Structure: Solid brass legs lacquered diameter 35mm.
Top finishes: 12mm glass, 20mm marble.
