A Silver Modern Dreidel, 20th Century
Located in New York, NY
A Silver Modern Dreidel made in the 20th Century. This Silver modern Dreidel is uncommonly made. The sides of the dreidel are square and it has the Hebrew letters Nun, Gimmel, Hey, and Shin prominently displayed but that's where the commonality stops. The top handle is long and cylindrical and the bottom point where the dreidel spins is very similar. We have seen this design on some bone dreidels. The top is slightly tilted upwards and has designs that resemble spherical beads encircled by filigree which are common on some Israeli Kiddush goblets. Even the letters which are the smae as most dreidels yet have unique designs. The Gimmel is crowned with an eight-branch Menorah, the Nun is placed within an oil pourer...

A Silver and Wedgewood Torah Pointer by Daniel Blumberg, Pennsylvania 1959
Located in New York, NY
A Unique Silver and Wedgewood Jasperware Torah Pointer made by Daniel Blumberg in Pennsylvania in 1959. Most Torah pointers are usually made with a single constant metal. While there are some exceptions where two materials are mixed to make a unique item, this is the first time we have seen a Torah pointer made with Silver and inlaid Wedgewood Jasperware. This distinctive Torah pointer was created by attaching a foliate-designed silver crown affixed with a long silver chain to the tip of the blue-colored Wedgewood Jasperware handle. The handle is adorned with inlaid white flowers and flowing acanthus leaves on the upper handle. Decorated with a gilded ring embellished with pearl-colored stones as the handle tapers smoothly down to the shaped vintage sleeve...

A Pair of Silver Tefillin Covers by Bezalel, Jerusalem Circa 1925
Located in New York, NY
A Very Rare Pair of Silver Tefillin Covers made by Bezalel in Jerusalem, Circa 1925. The Acid-etched technique with which these tefillin covers were made accompanied by the classic Bezalel design is truly remarkable. Probably 1 or 2 of these tefillin covers were ever made by Bezalel in this fashion in the early 20th Century. Featured on the outside of the four sides of the tefillin covers are beautiful chased motifs of grape clusters on hanging vines, pomegranates growing on trees, palm trees with hanging date clusters, and fig bushes with figs sprouting from their branches. These four species of fruit are part of the seven species...

An Artistic Silver Torah Pointer made in Israel in the 2nd half of the 20th Century. Top facing side of the pointer presents one-half with a chased terrain type of landscape with crenelated borders and the other half is smooth with a medallion applied to the top and the words "Shema Yisroel" prominently displayed in Hebrew containing an Israeli emblem; a six branch Menorah. A Silver Hanukkah Lamp , Germany Circa 1930
Located in New York, NY
A Unique Silver Arts and Crafts Hanukkah Lamp, made in Germany Circa 1930. This Hanukkah Lamp is truly unique and has a few different styles of craftmanship and designs that make up its structure. Seemingly this menorah looks to be made for children. The shaft and the base are remarkably executed. the light hammering on the base referenced the Arts and Crafts movement while the shaft is designed in an Art Deco fashion. However, the cut-out pattern of the palm leaves and the engraved Stars of David are of a lower standard; the engraving in particular is sloppy and crude. Yet the cups and the finial and the small bells at the end of the leaves are well done- the balls cite the influence of the Secession, yet another art trend. Whatever may be for the apparent contradiction in the quality of workmanship, this is an interesting Rarity. Hallmarked and signed at the bottom of the hammered base. Literature taken from Tzadik Kaplans Book: Jewish Antiques...
