The pieces of this magnificent and comprehensive antique George V English sterling silver canteen of cutlery for twelve persons have been crafted in the Sandringham pattern.
Each spoon and fork is embellished with a paralleling border to the handle, in addition to a pointed terminal.
The original table and dessert knives, in addition to the fish service, fruit service and carving set all retain the original faceted Art Deco style mother of pearl handles; each with plain a ferrule.
The bowls of the salt and mustard spoons retain the original gilding.

This impressive service benefits from an extensive range of serving pieces, incorporating an exceptional matching silver fish and dessert service.
The fundamental pieces of the basic service were crafted by the Sheffield silversmith Emile Viner of Viner's Ltd between 1934-1939; these pieces will have been crafted in fewer years but due to the hallmarking system the components bear the date letters 'r', 's', 't', 'u', 'v' and 'w'.
This service will have been retailed as a complete set and between the dates stated.
The stainless steel blades of the original composite handled table and dessert knives bear the mark 'By Appointment to the Late King George V, Viners Ltd, Sheffield' accented with 'Stainless Deluxe'.
This impressive canteen of cutlery is fitted to the original, fine and impressive oak three draw canteen table; this is an impressive piece of furniture in its own right.
The table is fitted with a pair of Art Deco style gilt metal handles to each drawer, in addition to plain escutcheons.
This exceptional cutlery table is supported by four plain legs with tapering knopped feet.

Condition
The Sandringham pattern cutlery service within this antique cutlery canteen table is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The service has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The table box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker.
The velvet interior of each draw has some wear in keeping with age, but can be considered to be in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
