This is an exceptionally rare pin created during the Edwardian period at Tiffany & Co. back in the 1900's. The stick pin has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and mounted with an Essex glass reverse intaglio carving, depicting the equestrian thematic of a three-dimensional horse-rider. The piece is secured by a gold stick pin and embellished with a an outer curved frame, which is decorated with blue and white hard enamels. Masterfully made with great craftsmanship and showing beautiful rich aged patina. This stunning pin would look beautiful worn on a blouse or blazer, either alone or paired with other pins! It is presented in the original antique Tiffany box.

Period: Edwardian, 1900-1905.
Technique: Hand carved, hand painted Essex Glass.
Weight: 7.85 Grams, (5.10 Dwt).
Measurements: 80 mm by 24 mm by 6 mm (3.15 x 0.95 x 0.24 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped at the reverse with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and signed as follows, "TIFFANY & CO.". The gold parts have been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as .750/.999 assay.
Essex Glass
Essex glass is a term primarily used in connection with a specific form of reverse intaglio, a technique where a design is engraved on the back of a crystal cabochon, then painted and sealed. This results in a visually stunning effect where the image appears to float within the crystal. The final result is a cabochon where the painted design appears to be floating within the crystal, creating a unique and visually captivating effect.
The Edwardian Period
This era, like the Georgian and Victorian eras before it, derives its name from the reign of the English King, Edward VII (1901-1910). Edwardian jewelry is known for representing femininity while incorporating a lot of the color white. Think diamonds, pearls and white metals like platinum and white gold. Diamonds often had an Old Mine or European cut and sapphires were a popular choice for a pop of color. They tended to be made from platinum and diamonds – the more, the merrier – and used fashionable, intricate techniques such as filigree and mill grain. Edwardian rings are works of art and best worn alone or alongside a simple wedding band. Mille graining, a new decorative technique made possible by the use of platinum, is featured often on Edwardian jewelry. Its border of delicate balls and ridges surrounding a gemstone or on the knife sharp edges of a design served to give jewelry a softer, lighter look.

The beautiful brooch was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish and embellished with applications of green and blue glass enamels.The brooch is mounted with seventeen gorgeous white colorless diamonds and is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a mechanical twist lock. This brooch may be adjusted to wear as a pendant.

Peter Lindeman
He was born in Berlin. Lindeman grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay, apprenticing with a fine European firm. In 1947, at the age of 17, he headed to New York, where he worked for several high-end jewelers. After selling his designs to some of the most renowned businesses in the fine jewelry industry, Peter Lindeman set out to make a name for himself. Between crafting some truly innovative designs and developing new methods for reaching customers, both skill and hard work led to acclaim for his jewelry. His workshop supplied pieces to retailers such as Tiffany & Co., Shreve, Crump & Lowe, and Bailey Banks & Biddle. In 1955, he started designing his own jewelry and created his signature hallmark – a teardrop with an “L” placed on the back of every piece. This is a very unusual sculptural brooch, designed by the Dutch artist Johan Gerard Van Loon and produced by the German porcelain company of Rosenthal, back in the 1970's. The beautiful abstract piece of art is made of white glazed white porcelain and black enamel. This is a lovely Rosenthal collector's piece no longer available at the Rosenthal retailers. It is a unique conversation piece to compliment any ensemble.
Weight: 13.5 Grams, (8.65 Dwt).
Measurements: 48 mm by 44 mm (1.89 x 1.73 Inches).

Johan Van Loon
Johan Gerard van Loon born in Rotterdam in 29 October 1934. He was a Dutch ceramist and textile artist. Van Loon studied textile design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie from 1952 to 1956, and from 1957 to 1960 at the Konstfack in Stockholm under Stig Lindberg. In 1958 he took pottery classes from the Amsterdam potter Jos Eppens van Veen, ] in 1960 from Thera Hofstede Crull, and in 1961 at the Camberwell College of Arts in London under Lucie Rie. In 1960 he took another study tour to Scandinavia and worked with Kylikki Salmenhaara for the Arabia porcelain factory in Finland. In 1962 Van Loon took part of an exhibition of six young ceramists from Amsterdam in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, together with Hans de Jong, Sonja Landweer, Johnny Rolf, Jan de Rooden...

A very rare sweetheart Royal Air Force pilot wings, created in London England during the art deco period by the jewelry house of Cartier. This historical wings-badge has been made back in the 1930 and was finely crafted with stylized lines in the shape of an airplane propeller in solid .950/.999 platinum. This colorful elegant brooch has been designed by the famous jeweler Paul Flato. Crafted in solid .900/.999 platinum with high polished finish and fitted at the reverse with a hinged double pins with a trombone lock for safety.
It is fully embellished with an exceptional repertoire of natural, earth mined and not treated or heated color gemstones.
Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings with 12 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 1.26 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Diamonds: Mount in flat settings with 12 European round brilliant cut diamonds 0.84 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Diamonds: Mount in channel settings with 56 caliber straight baguettes diamonds cut, 3.36 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Sapphires: Mounted in four-prongs settings with 21 color sapphires such; Blue (5), Yellow (4), Pink (5), Purple (2), Violet (3), Green (1) and Red (1). The total combined weight is 21.63 carats.

Paul Edmund Flato born on September 1, 1900. He was an American jeweler, based in New York City from the 1920's to the early 1940's. Considered the first celebrity jeweler, he was well known for important jewelry, and as an early proponent of whimsical pieces. His long list of movie star clients included Greta Garbo, Mae West, Rita Hayworth, Joan Crawford, Doris Duke, Ginger Rogers, Carmen Miranda, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn, and Gloria Vanderbilt—many of whom wore his pieces on screen. Soon after moving to New York, he opened his own upstairs jewelry shop at One East 57th Street, at the corner of 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Several years later, Tiffany & Co. opened its flagship store directly across the street.
