This is a gorgeous modernist brooch, created in New York City by the artist and goldsmith Peter Lindeman, back in the 1970. The beautiful brooch was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish and embellished with applications of green and blue glass enamels.The brooch is mounted with seventeen gorgeous white colorless diamonds and is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a mechanical twist lock. This brooch may be adjusted to wear as a pendant.

Peter Lindeman
He was born in Berlin. Lindeman grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay, apprenticing with a fine European firm. In 1947, at the age of 17, he headed to New York, where he worked for several high-end jewelers. After selling his designs to some of the most renowned businesses in the fine jewelry industry, Peter Lindeman set out to make a name for himself. Between crafting some truly innovative designs and developing new methods for reaching customers, both skill and hard work led to acclaim for his jewelry. His workshop supplied pieces to retailers such as Tiffany & Co., Shreve, Crump & Lowe, and Bailey Banks & Biddle. In 1955, he started designing his own jewelry and created his signature hallmark – a teardrop with an “L” placed on the back of every piece. This is a very rare and bold versatile pendant-brooch created in Milan Italy by the renowned jewelry house of Verdura, back in 1970. The piece is pretty large and has been crafted in the shape of six curved-arms Maltese cross in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with a finish of high polish and accented in the center with a platinum element for the settings of the diamonds. This center is mounted with an impeccable pave setting composed by natural white colorless diamonds. The brooch is fitted at the reverse with hinged double pins with a trombone security lock. This is a gorgeous piece masterfully crafted and surely will pop up to the wearer. Modeled after the Maltese crosses Fulco di Verdura first created for Chanel in the 1930s, this Ray brooch is one of the firm’s earliest and most popular designs. It quickly found favor with the era’s most stylish women including Millicent Rogers and Truman Capote’s Society Swans. The rich, golden rays center on a pavé-set diamond knot motif.
Diamonds: The platinum parts are mounted in a pave setting, with 138 calibrated round brilliant cuts diamonds, with a total weight of about 9.66 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Weight: 75.30 Grams, (48.30 Dwt).
Measurements: 70 mm by 72 mm by 15 mm (2.76 x 2.85 x 0.60 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and the platinum, the seven-digits inventory serial numbers and signed, "VERDURA .750 18KT PLAT VEC4598".
Verdura
The Duke Fulco di Verdura (1899-1978), start his career as a designer in Paris in 1920, Creating the iconic Maltese cross cuff bracelet for his friend Coco Chanel. In the 1934 he moved to the United States and closely collaborate with Paul Flato in California, designing jewelry for the Hollywood stars of the new movie era, including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. In 1939, he moved again, but this time to the city of New York and to open the Verdura boutique, in the Fifth Avenue location. in that period Verdura gains the estimation of the very high-profile clientele in the new York's high society.

This is a very unusual sculptural brooch, designed by the Dutch artist Johan Gerard Van Loon and produced by the German porcelain company of Rosenthal, back in the 1970's. The beautiful abstract piece of art is made of white glazed white porcelain and black enamel. This is a lovely Rosenthal collector's piece no longer available at the Rosenthal retailers. It is a unique conversation piece to compliment any ensemble.

Johan Van Loon
Johan Gerard van Loon born in Rotterdam in 29 October 1934. He was a Dutch ceramist and textile artist. Van Loon studied textile design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie from 1952 to 1956, and from 1957 to 1960 at the Konstfack in Stockholm under Stig Lindberg. In 1958 he took pottery classes from the Amsterdam potter Jos Eppens van Veen, ] in 1960 from Thera Hofstede Crull, and in 1961 at the Camberwell College of Arts in London under Lucie Rie. In 1960 he took another study tour to Scandinavia and worked with Kylikki Salmenhaara for the Arabia porcelain factory in Finland. Johan Van Loon
Johan Gerard van Loon born in Rotterdam in 29 October 1934. He was a Dutch ceramist and textile artist. Van Loon studied textile design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie from 1952 to 1956, and from 1957 to 1960 at the Konstfack in Stockholm under Stig Lindberg. In 1958 he took pottery classes from the Amsterdam potter Jos Eppens van Veen, ] in 1960 from Thera Hofstede Crull, and in 1961 at the Camberwell College of Arts in London under Lucie Rie. In 1960 he took another study tour to Scandinavia and worked with Kylikki Salmenhaara for the Arabia porcelain factory in Finland. A very rare sweetheart Royal Air Force pilot wings, created in London England during the art deco period by the jewelry house of Cartier. This historical wings-badge has been made back in the 1930 and was finely crafted with stylized lines in the shape of an airplane propeller in solid .950/.999 platinum. The brooch is embellished in the center with one very fine natural earth mined blue sapphire and is fitted at the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin-bar and a mechanical security lock.

An exceptional and very rare masterpiece, created In New York city back in the 1940, during the American art deco and the retro periods. This colorful elegant brooch has been designed by the famous jeweler Paul Flato. Crafted in solid .900/.999 platinum with high polished finish and fitted at the reverse with a hinged double pins with a trombone lock for safety.
It is fully embellished with an exceptional repertoire of natural, earth mined and not treated or heated color gemstones.
Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings with 12 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 1.26 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Diamonds: Mount in flat settings with 12 European round brilliant cut diamonds 0.84 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Diamonds: Mount in channel settings with 56 caliber straight baguettes diamonds cut, 3.36 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Sapphires: Mounted in four-prongs settings with 21 color sapphires such; Blue (5), Yellow (4), Pink (5), Purple (2), Violet (3), Green (1) and Red (1). The total combined weight is 21.63 carats.

Paul Edmund Flato born on September 1, 1900. He was an American jeweler, based in New York City from the 1920's to the early 1940's. Considered the first celebrity jeweler, he was well known for important jewelry, and as an early proponent of whimsical pieces. His long list of movie star clients included Greta Garbo, Mae West, Rita Hayworth, Joan Crawford, Doris Duke, Ginger Rogers, Carmen Miranda, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn, and Gloria Vanderbilt—many of whom wore his pieces on screen. Soon after moving to New York, he opened his own upstairs jewelry shop at One East 57th Street, at the corner of 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Several years later, Tiffany & Co. opened its flagship store directly across the street.
