1950s Chocolate Brown Silk Swing Coat

About the Item

This stylish 1950s chocolate brown silk swing coat is smart, chic and in beautiful vintage condition. A high round neckline and neatly tailored shoulders give way to a luxurious volume of rich brown fabric flaring out from beneath the bust. The generosity of the cut allows an elegant movement when worn. The front fastens over from right to left and is secured with concealed hook eye fastenings. An attractive bow feature in place just below the bust to the front left, completing the aesthetic. The coat is deceptively warm, and is lined throughout with a quilted cream satin fabric. This piece is wonderfully adaptable and would compliment both formal, evening and informal daywear. There is no label and therefore we are unable to confirm the designer, although it is unquestionably high quality original 1950s vintage. Would best suit up to a US size 6, UK size 10 or sizes smaller, although there is give in the waist and hip.
