A Transparent Indian saree in Bengal brocaded cotton called Jamdani, 453 cm long by 110 cm wide! Indigo-dyed cotton voile embroidered with Mughal-inspired geometric motifs in white and gold. The gold embroidery is made of gold spun strips with a silk core. In mint antique condition having retained its primer. Perfect for a curtain. Jamdani is a technique of weaving and broaching cotton threads on a hand loom, the tradition of which dates back to the 17th century. Some publications in English, including the very informative exhibition and publication entitled Woven Air. Very good condition.
