About the Item

This sensational 1950’s silk satin gown in pale grey showcases some magnificent construction and is of incredible quality. The opulent choice of fabric has been expertly tailored and the care and attention to detail is equally apparent on the interior of the piece, with beautiful finishings on the seams and hemming. Silver grey is married with a panel of understated lemon yellow tone silk which is arranged over the hips and navel in a downwards point, accentuating the waistline to flattering effect. There are delicate straps and a sweetheart neckline with a softly ruched bodice gathered over the bust, featuring a lovely silk flower corsage in pale yellow to match the waistband. This dress features a very full length skirt that could potentially be worn with an underskirt for extra volume. There is a concealed zip fastening to the left of the bodice as far as the waist. A real statement piece complete with over the elbow gloves in matching grey silk. It fastens at the side with a zip and is in truly excellent condition - no issues of any note. Would best suit a US size 8, UK size 12. Unlabelled but a high quality American manufactured peice.
