Fall/Winter 1983 Geoffrey Beene shift dress with kimono style sleeves, appliqued circles and 'disco ball' embellishments. This fabulous dress is simply wearable art with all the wit and chic details one would expect from Geoffrey Beene. The fabric is a silk and wool blend with a satin sheen. It is a combination of pewter tone silver, mustard yellow and black with golden metallic threading. The 'disco ball' embellishments are half dome shaped faceted silver plastic with loads of reflective qualities and a festive op art effect. The dress is a simple shift silhouette with pullover construction ... the perfect combination of Mr. Beene's effortless style. CONDITION Overall the dress is in good condition with subtle signs of age and wear. There is a small spot at the front bust shown in photograph 13. There are a couple of fabric snags at both front and back as shown in photographs 14 and 15. The dress has been professionally cleaned and makes a wonderful impression. A note on care: in order to properly and safely clean, the embellishments should be removed and then reattached. It is a little bit of work but worth it to keep this special dress in tip top condition. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a size 8 and fits true to size ... might also work for those that wear smaller sizes but have a strong shoulder line. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
