About the Item

1960's ultra glam black velvet jumpsuit with intricate silver beading at the bodice and cuffs. The jumpsuit zips and hooks at the deep v-back with a voluminous pant leg that is easily mistaken as a full skirt and hidden side pockets. The cross-your-heart neckline is accented by silvery beading in a layered chevron pattern which is also repeated at the cuffs that snap for a snug fit. The velvet has the appearance and feel of silk though there is no contents label for confirmation. The design combines the effortless glamour of 1960's hostess wear and the chic style of an Art Deco Hollywood starlet. Retailed at Lillie Rubin with no other designer label present. CONDITION Good vintage condition with some loose beading at the back zipper as shown in photograph 12 and a couple of missing beads at one cuff shown in photograph 13 and the front neckline shown in photograph 14. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a size 8 though the jumpsuit best fits U.S. size 4 with attention to the following measurements ... especially note the empire waist measurement. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
