About the Item

I’ll have mine over easy with a side of sequins! Fabulous 1980’s ‘Bacon & Egg’ dress ensemble by American designer, Michaele Vollbracht (1947-2018), with an over-the-top whimsical silk print depicting black & white gingham tablecloths laden with generous (and colorful) servings of bacon & eggs. The ensemble consists of a pinafore dress and a coordinating blouse. The print is embellished with golden sequins on some of the yolks and black sequins scattered on the gingham. Vollbracht’s name is subtly included in the design as he famously was know for his illustrations as he was for his pop art style fashion. The blouse buttons at the front with a built-in tie and also buttons at the cuffs of the generous sleeves. The full skirt hooks and zips at the back with a side pocket and light blue lining. The pinafore bib was detached by the original owner so that the piece could be worn as a skirt and blouse though it could easily be reattached to restore the original design. Both pieces are labelled. From the Atlanta estate of a fashionable lady with a ‘maximalist’ style. CONDITION Very good condition.
