Plunging Buff Silk Chiffon Nude Dressing Cocktail Dress – XS - S, 1950s

About the Item

A diaphanous piece as weightless as it is pale, this dress’s beautiful color is complemented by its Grecian silhouette. Its wide neckline falls softly off the shoulders for further allure. Would look stunning on a marble-skinned red head. Buff acetate wiggle dress with fuff silk chiffon overlay featuring draped surplice bodice, plunging back and ruched cap sleeves; extra wide neckline. Rear metal zipper closure with top hook and loop. String loops and narrow waist belt; 4” rear vent.. fabric: acetate, poly chiffon noteworthy: dry clean only; •please note very narrow sweep• alterations: added front and rear princess seams in chiffon overlay condition: good with some notable flaws: a few scattered small (2 mm or smaller) holes in chiffon overlay only, which do not show because overlay is very sheer and exactly matches lining; belt is not original to dress measurements: neckline: 13” across; 6” front and rear drop shoulders: 17” sleeve length: 4” from shoulder, ½” from underarm bust: 40” max waist: 26” hips: 38” length: 43” from shoulder, 36” from underarm sweep: 32” rear vent: 4” belt: 29” long x ½” wide; adjustable from 24” – 26” label: Gilbère designed by Charles Robbins size: none; comparable to size XS – S depending on desired fit and preferred stride
