About the Item

A noteworthy example of Chinese Jingxiu embroidery, this traditional Tang jacket features luxurious fabrics, expert handwork and unusual European colorways. One of its most unique features—its green-ochre lining—is nearly invisible to all but the wearer. Suitable for wearing or hanging. Short traditional Tang jacket with Mandarin collar, wide ¾ sleeves and rounded cutaway side seams; embroidered flower and butterfly motif at front and back center and shoulders. Hemline, sleeve edges, collar seam and asymmetrical front closure banded in embroidered tape and ¾” black satin trim. 5 front double-frog button closure; lined in green-ochre crêpe de Chine. fabric: silk satin, crêpe de Chine noteworthy: professionally leather clean only alterations: none condition: very good with a few light water fleck spots only visible from certain angles measurements: collar: 2” tall x 16” around when buttoned closed shoulders: natural shoulder 17”, drop shoulder 29” sleeve length: 19” from natural shoulder, 13” from drop shoulder, 16 ½” from underarm sleeve circumference: 16” bust/chest: 43” waist: 44” length: 28” from shoulder, 18” from underarm sweep: 50” side vents: 8” label: Jingxiu (Made in China) size: none; comparable to women’s medium
