About the Item

A classic silhouette rendered in a monochrome dogtooth pattern with contrasting black details, this wonderful 1960's dress and matching ensemble by Alfred Werber, is the perfect set for work or play. The rounded neckline of the dress is decorated with a large central matching bow. The simple shoulder line, sets off the short capped sleeves. The elegant fitted bodice, which is rendered in a waffled nylon mix fabric, is accented by tailored darts beneath the bust-line and above the waistline. The timeless A line cut of the skirt, boasts a bold monochrome dogtooth pattern, rendered in a faille fabric, and is set off by single box pleats that drape from either side of the front of the waistline. Matching pleats can be found along the back of the dress, framing the central zip fastening. The dress is not lined. The matching jacket sits perfectly above the dress, and boasts a raised collar and straight cut front along the neckline, above which the large central bow of the dress sits comfortably, The simple shoulder line, draws the eye to the full length inset sleeves. The tailored cut of the jacket is accented with curved seams that run from beneath the sleeves, and tailored darts along the bust-line. Finished with central black button fastenings. The jacket is fully lined in black rayon.
