About the Item

This is a terrific original 1960s three-piece swimsuit set comprising a sheer coverup, bikini top and bottom all in a matching orange and pink floral design. The coverup is made of a sheer manmade fabric while the bikini set is cotton with a white cotton lining. Labelled "A Sportaville Model", "tailored in London" this is a classic piece of 60s sportswear. The coverup is collarless with a single button at the neckline. The bikini top fastens at the back with 2 hook and eyes at different places to adjust to the wearers bust and it has reinforced cups. The bikini bottoms have an elasticated waist and knicker line. Condition wise this is in very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The set is labelled as a vintage UK 12 but in modern terms we could suggest this more suited to a UK 6, US 2. This desirable 1960s pale pink trouser suit is by celebrated Italian designer Emilio Pucci and is vibrant, contemporary and in very good vintage condition, showing only gentle signs of wear. Pucci designs are synonymous with luxury and often in printed silk hosting bold geometric designs and this lovely ensemble is a fine earlier example of his trademark look. The sleeveless silk chiffon blouse features a rose-window style design in marine blue, lime green and fuchsia on a sugar pink background, subtly emblazoned with the designers signature. There is an open shirt style neckline and a gently scalloped hem. The silk linen trousers are straight legged with a tapered ankle line and are neatly tailored at the navel, fastening to the side with a zip and button closure.
