About the Item

Unusual Art Deco Surrealist Lobster Motif beach cape 1930s. Of white cotton chenille with bright red and black lobster with self front ties. 1930's USA. This capelet version is a nod to and inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli. Of the many collaborations between Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali, the lobster dress is, without a doubt, the most famous.

Condition:
